Pokémon Trophy Pikachu No. 3 Trainer Bronze PSA Trading Card Game NM-MT 8 (Media Factory, 1997) 1st Tournament, Holo. Please take a moment to take it in. The card offered here is one of the true holy grails of the Pokémon TCG hobby, the Bronze No. 3 Pikachu Trophy from the 1997 tournament, the first Pokémon TCG tournament ever! How could you get one of these cards, you ask? The card could not be pulled from a booster pack; it was earned and awarded to four young trainers in the 1st Official Pocket Monsters Tournament. This historic tournament took place at the Makuhari Messe Event Hall in Chiba, Japan, on June 14-15, 1997. It was awarded to the four contestants that placed 3rd place in the four different contests during the two-day event. The winners of these cards also gained preferred entry into the Lizardon Mega Battle Tournament, the second Pokémon TCG tournament. The Lizardon Mega Battle is considered by many to be the first official Pokémon TCG National Championships. The iconic artwork was done by one of the most famous Pokémon artists, Mitsuhiro Arita, who was also responsible for the artwork of the 1st and 2nd place trophy cards. This card's importance and historical significance cannot be overstated, as it is truly a centerpiece for any collection. PSA has certified 4 copies earning NM-MT 8 with none graded higher.
