The banknote series printed in the Netherlands for the Netherlands Indies is so rare, it is almost unknown. A plethora of denominations were printed and issued, but a scant few exist to be collected today. This 300 Gulden is third highest denomination of the series. At the time of cataloging, this Remainder is the only example of the type graded in the PMG Population Report, across all dates from 1865 to 1890, in all known formats. A printer notation in the bottom margin indicates design approvals by bank officials. The first of its kind we have offered and rare to the most extreme definition of the term.
